Our Amazon-Andes Projects

  1. Grants to ProPurus to protect 7 sites in the Ucayali region of Peru from land invasions, illegal roads, and other threats, and frame a proposal for larger support
  2. Grant to Asociacion Willkasiwar in support of creating a Hummingbird conservation area in the Andean highlands, through the project 'Conservación de Picaflores y Biodiversidad en Bosques'
  3. Grant in support of Susay Warmi, an indigenous women's community organization in Iquitos, Peru devoted to the protection of native seeds, wetlands, and forest in one of the richest parts of the Peruvian Amazon
  4. Grant to Asociación ANDES for the establishment of a biocultural Learning Grounds and general support
  5. Grant to ORAU, as general support to indigenous watershed councils working on frontlines of Ucayali region against illegal land invasions
  6. Grant to União dos Povos Indígenas Vale do Javari, in support of patrolling of the Vale do Javari, a remote and isolated region of the Brazilian Amazon, against illegal loggers entering the region
  7. Grant in general support of the Wampi struggle to protect approximately 1.3 million hectares of autonomous territory from illegal logging and extraction
  8. In support of 'Waktachik,' a youth-led community radio station for the Pueblo Sarayaku, aimed at strengthening their internal and external communications for the protection of their territory
